My Academic and Professional Background

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Michigan State University. After graduation, I worked at the MI Department of Human Services, gaining experience in the child welfare system, at which point I realized I wanted to pursue a career as a mental health professional. I wanted to assist individuals experiencing mental illness to learn effective coping strategies to manage their symptoms, relationships, and life stressors.

I earned my Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008. While working on my MSW, I completed clinical internships at Gateway Rehabilitation Services and Staunton Clinic working with individuals struggling with substance abuse issues and mental illness in both outpatient and intensive outpatient settings.

After earning my MSW, I worked for 3 years at Renewal, Inc. on a female inpatient addictions unit in the criminal justice system through the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh, PA. During my time at Renewal, I obtained my supervision hours and later passed my licensure exam to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW.)

I worked as an outpatient mental health therapist at Valley Oaks Health 2013-2020. I then made the decision to pursue private practice in order to share my extensive knowledge and experience with clients in a more flexible and independent setting.

I specialize in working with individuals ages 18+ experiencing any of the following:

  • Depression
  • Trauma/PTSD
  • Mood/Emotional Dysregulation
